Toby Abrehart
Director & Principal Ecologist
Toby established Abrehart Ecology Ltd. in 2016 and has over 26 years’ experience working across the UK. He’s best known as a specialist in terrestrial and aquatic molluscs and aquatic invertebrates, advising on mitigation, translocations and long term studies especially on Vertigo molluscs and innovative research and translocations on the Little Whirlpool Ram's-horn Snail (Anisus vorticulus).
In addition, he is a skilled bird surveyor, small mammal specialist, and botanist (FISC Level 5). He contributes a pragmatic approach and a keen eye for detail to projects that strike a balance between development and conservation.
Holds - Roman Snail, Little Whirlpool Ramshorn Snail, and Norfolk Hawker licences.

Lindsey Jennings
Director & Project Coordinator
Lindsey is one of the main points of contact for our clients, providing them with fee proposals and arranging site visits.
She provides support to the ecologists in-house and in the field, whilst also handling secretarial work, including a range of administrative tasks, such as accountancy, appointments, and overseeing the planning of the company’s fieldwork diary.
Qualifications: Fire Warden Training, Leadership and Management, and Mental Health in the Workplace

Thomas Jordan
Senior Ecologist
Thomas has been with Abrehart Ecology for over five years. In that time, he has led countless surveys for a multitude of clients and projects, covering a wide range of ecological services. His passion lies with herptiles as he has been a keen reptile and amphibian keeper for many years.

James Roberts
Ecologist
James has been with Abrehart Ecology for over three years. He has carried out a range of ecological surveys for a wide range of protected species. His interest lies in invertebrates, in which he has taken part in aquatic invertebrate surveys and led terrestrial invertebrate surveys.

Lewis Cassidy
Ecologist
Lewis has been with Abrehart Ecology for over two years. He has detailed knowledge, experience, and a passion for the ecology of bats. He has been a part of the Essex Bat group for a number of years. His interests extend over a range of other groups, including plants, fungi, and birds.

Dave Bescoby
GIS Specialist
Dave has worked with Abrehart Ecology for a number of years. He has detailed, expert knowledge of using GIS software and has produced maps for a variety of projects. He has 25+ years of experience in the heritage sector, both in the UK and abroad. He holds an MSc with distinction in Geoarchaeology and completed his Ph.D on Roman Butrint, southern Albania.

Josie Woods
Assistant Ecologist
Josie has been with Abrehart Ecology for over a year. In that time, she has assisted on a variety of surveys and has led several of her own. She has a keen interest in small mammals as well as reptiles. She is currently working towards her level 1 Great Crested Newt licence and Bat licence

Anna Armstrong
Trainee Ecologist
Anna has worked with Abrehart Ecology for over 6 months. In that time, she has assisted with a number of surveys. Her interests lie in amphibians and reptiles as well as botany.
